·        Environmental Education is taught as a Core Paper of 4 Credits (100 Marks) in B. Ed Semester 1st. This paper provides the learners various opportunities to get a firsthand experience of the environment. At the same time, our pupil teachers get exposed to various issues and concerns being faced by the environment. The department strives to instill among the learners an inclination towards the environment, to inculcate in them a true sense of “Earth Thinking” and an urge to participate in environmental activities. Being a teacher training institute, our future teachers are provided an in depth understanding of nature and natural resources, ecosystem goods and services, climatic concerns, regional and global biodiversity, environmental ethics, etc.  As a sense of environmentalism is created in the learners here, it is definitely transmitted to the grass root level as our in-service pupil teachers carry the message back to the schools from where they are deputed. Besides this, our pre-service learners are always very much ready to disseminate the much needed information about the environment to various quarters. All this zeal and enthusiasm is reflected in their participation in environmental activities organized by the department from time to time.

·        In 2-Year M.Ed Programme, it is taught as GE: Environmental Science of 2 Credits (50 Marks).

·        In 2-Year M.A. Education Programme, it is offered as OE: Environment and Sustainable  Development of 2 Credits (50 Marks).
