Profile
Physical Education Department of Govt. College of Education is headed by Mr. Muhammad Ayoub (Director Physical Education) and is assisted by Miss Daljeet Kour (Assistant Physical Director). The facilities include playing field, volley ball court, badminton court, and indoor facilities like table tennis, carom, chess and gym. The department also organizes sports activities like hiking and trekking, snow skiing, road and cycle race. Various kinds of tournaments are also organized by the department for both pre-service and in-service students (B.Ed. and M.Ed. students).
The department is quite active in organizing trips and tours to various places in and outside the valley.
The department also coordinates with University of Kashmir (Directorate of Physical Education) in organizing various inter-college tournaments. The department also participates in various sports events organized by J & K Sports Council with the help of different sports associations
